What is Dungannon really all about? Dungannon is a service trip which provides help to those who are unable to do it by themselves. When we start our service projects tomorrow, we will be heading out as groups. We are the purple team, led by Mr. Ely. We consist of five members, including Izzy Bartels, Colin Ryan, Olivia Fairlamb, Amanda Tan, and Robert Westermann. We are staying at the Dungannon Development Commission, a.k.a the DDC.
After the car ride, we headed out to the local Elementary School and played a game of kickball, while four others stayed back to help make dinner for us. Following the kickball game, we came back for dinner. Dinner was chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, and salad, which was delicious. Then, we got our teams through a draft, and competed in a group challenge. The challenge was to build the tallest structure we could out of spaghetti that had to have a marshmallow on top. Every team failed, but our group was the closest to getting it right. The team that got last had to clean the kitchen. Afterwards, we played games outside and hung out in the community room.
Then we showered and joined together, and created this blog post.
We are looking forward to the following week, working with multiple people throughout, and completing different tasks.
